At first, I was bemused when a group of my cricketing friends started to spend long hours of the summer making plans to travel to obscure non-league football games in the coming winter.
Watching a team of amateur footballers hoofing the ball up and down a field in the middle of nowhere doesn’t hold much interest for me.
