Derek Pringle column: Southpaw Jaiswal cuts England down to size

It was meant to be baking hot at Headingley on the opening day of the first Test between England and India with cricket to match.
What ensued was a more tepid affair with India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal, a definite hotspot, continuing his love affair with England’s bowlers, writes Derek Pringle.

Jaiswal, 23, first encountered England’s attack in India 15 months ago when, to roll out an old-school phrase, he ‘’filled his boots”, scoring 712 runs in five Tests at an average of 89 with not one but two double hundreds.
