“There’s no future here for you anymore.” Those words could have been the end of my cricket career.

I was halfway through a spell in the nets at Durham, filled with excitement as that day was also my 21st birthday.
A not so lavish party was planned with all my friends, the sun was shining, nothing could have ruined that day. Or so I thought.
Professional sport is a cut-throat business, and cricket is no different. You don’t perform? You’re gone.
