“It will fill up,” I convince myself, as I take my seat at Old Trafford, midway through Lancashire Thunder’s innings against Hampshire Women.
This is the first of two T20 games being played, with Lancashire Lightning due to welcome Leicestershire Foxes in the evening. A smattering of spectators are dotted around, soaking up some rare Manchester sun.
In my head, though, I know the likelihood of the crowd flocking in come 6.30 is slim to none. Buying a ticket for ‘unreserved seating’ was enough of a giveaway.
