An injury to Jofra Archer’s right thumb has seen him ruled out of England’s ODI series against West Indies this week, and he may not be able to return to action for England Lions next month.
Archer sustained the injury while fielding for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL at the beginning of the month.
He had initially been named in England’s 16-man squad for the ODI series that begins at Edgbaston on Thursday, but Lancashire’s left-arm seamer Luke Wood, will now be part of the squad instead.
