A lot of the discussion surrounding England’s first Test squad of the summer has been about who should replace Zak Crawley at the top of the order, but the make-up of the bowling attack is another major headache for the selectors.
The early-season conditions and lack of wickets being taken, particularly in Division One, doesn’t help them on that front.
Josh Tongue has impressed for Notts and is a shoo-in and Gus Atkinson is back on the park for Surrey, but Jofra Archer’s involvement at the IPL and Brydon Carse’s hand injury means there are spots up for grabs.
