Ollie Robinson has given fast medium bowling a shot in the arm. All over the world.

That’s the view of former South African great Vernon Philander, who has been credited with playing a key role in Robinson’s development – and was name-checked by the man himself during a Sky interview during the rain break at Headingley on Thursday.
Philander spent three months with Sussex back in 2017, when Robinson was feeling his way into first class cricket after arriving on the south coast from Yorkshire in April 2015.
