There is something appropriate about Keith Barker ending his professional cricket career where it all began.

When the 39-year-old announced his retirement this week, bringing the curtain down on 17 seasons in professional cricket, it was at Warwickshire that the story came full circle.
Barker first joined the Bears in 2008, made his professional debut the following year and, after a hugely successful seven-year spell with Hampshire, returned to Edgbaston for one final season in 2026.
