There was huge excitement when former England all-rounder Moeen Ali, 38, winner of two World Cups and two IPL titles and a player with more than 430 T20 games behind him, was announced as Yorkshire’s star Vitality Blast signing earlier this season.
On and off the field, his vast experience is already benefitting Yorkshire, who found themselves top of the North Group going into this weekend’s matches.
The White Rose’s record in the Blast is weak, Yorkshire being one of just four counties never to have won the competition, which is why Moeen was recruited.
