It happened again last week.
County cricket had the chance to create excitement, spectacle and, dare I say, relevance. Instead, it prevaricated and bickered so, with little else to do, the status quo shrugged its shoulders and bumbled on. The gun was carefully lined up and then, bam, straight into its own foot.
Lancashire’s Twitter feed unravelled the row by suggesting Somerset had pooped a potential fourth-day party by failing to declare and set a target for the home side to chase. Liam Livingstone, over at the IPL, threw in a few snoring emojis for good ...
