At the end of April, I went to watch Devon play Herefordshire at Bovey Tracey Cricket Club for the first game in the National Counties one-day competition.
It’s a picturesquely well-set-up ground, surrounded by mature trees, with far-reaching views of Dartmoor.
The warm weather ensured there was a decent crowd, seated in convivial clusters around the boundary.
Spectators were treated to a good standard of cricket and a Devon win.
