Lancashire’s One-Day Cup win last weekend book-ended their season with silverware. Without wanting to downplay their T20 County Cup win back in May, this will be the more meaningful trophy in the Old Trafford display case.
Lancashire had to win four games of cricket to claim the County Cup, half of them against Tier Two teams.
They also benefited from Sophie Ecclestone’s temporary England omission, and weren’t shy to bully semi-professional sides with the best bowler in the world.
But, the One Day Cup title was a hard-fought triumph.
