Finals are coming thick and fast. The T20 Blast yesterday, Surrey v Notts starting tomorrow (unofficially a Championship final), the men’s and women’s One-Day Cup finals next Saturday and Sunday.

Finals are coming thick and fast. The T20 Blast yesterday, Surrey v Notts starting tomorrow (unofficially a Championship final), the men’s and women’s One-Day Cup finals next Saturday and Sunday.

Staging the men’s 50-over final in September keeps up a long tradition in English cricket, although our one-day competition is much changed, and not only because the final has moved from London to Nottingham.
When the Hundred launched in 2021, taking top billing from the One-Day Cup and effectively stealing its elite players, I was concerned.
