Yorkshire postpone clash with Derbyshire for a reason that makes a lot of sense

Yorkshire have postponed Wednesday’s match with due to a fairly severe case of fever taking hold of the nation.

The Vikings clash with Derbyshire coincides with the team’s semi-final against Croatia, who kick off just 30 minutes after the T20 fixture was scheduled to begin.

It is the first time the have reached the last four of the tournament in 28 years, leaving Yorkshire with the prospect of a lowly attendance.

A statement read: “Following England’s progression to the semi-final of the FIFA World Cup, Yorkshire believe that it is in the best interests of the spectators to reschedule the fixture.

“The decision has taken into consideration travel advice for the area on Wednesday night.”

The match will now take place on July 30, meaning has had his wish granted.
