Bangladesh tame Australia in their own backyard for victory in first Test

Bangladesh’s historic Test win over Australia highlighted the impact of Hasan Mahmud’s spell with Kent, with fellow fast bowler Shoriful Islam also being lined up for a September return to county cricket.

Bangladesh’s stunning nine-wicket win against Australia in the first Test has been regarded by many as the biggest upset in Test history.
The tourists were playing in alien conditions after an absence of 23 years, against an Australian team packed with all-time greats, following a disastrous warm-up fixture where they were bowled out for 54.
Given those factors, it’s difficult to argue against the assertion that this was cricket’s biggest shock, certainly in living memory.
