Sam Northeast is hoping that being on the wrong end of two draws in Division Two will be the precursor to a Glamorgan-like run to promotion by the end of the season.

Kent shared the spoils with Durham in the opening round of matches before finding themselves in the field for longer than Northeast would care to remember, as Northamptonshire amassed 684 for 2 at Canterbury last week.
They bounced back to hold on for a draw, with Kent’s homecoming king scoring his second half-century of an up-and-down campaign.
