Luke Wood joins Northamptonshire on loan from Notts

Northamptonshire had added Notts seamer to their squad on loan ahead of the start of the Championship season.

The 23-year-old is in contention to play in first two matches of the season against and .

Wood has claimed 76 wickets in first-class cricket and adds left-arm variation to the attack available to Northants head coach David Ripley.

“We saw Luke play for against us last week at and we’ve always admired him as a left arm swing ,” Ripley said of seeing taking Wood take 3-31 against Cambridge MCCU.

“He’s got decent pace, he swings the ball, he can , he looks as fit as a fiddle, he’s got a lot going for him.

“Hopefully he can have two good games for us and then whether that leads to more for us or he gets back into the Notts first it’s going to be a good ending either way.”
