It’s a long way from Stoke to Sialkot but Rory Haydon, Derbyshire’s latest new ball prospect, has found a kindred spirit in his teammate Mohammed Abbas.
So much so that he’s been labelled as the “Stoke Abbas”, a description that the 23-year-old is clearly pleased with.
“I think we announced that we were signing Bassey in whatever month it was in the winter, ever since then the Gaffer’s been saying that the way we go about bowling is quite similar,” says Haydon.
