County by County 2026 Season Preview – Division Two – Lancashire
The season can be split into two parts really, the first half of the season made for pretty grim viewing at times as the club failed to win any of their opening seven County Championship matches, losing with defeats against Northamptonshire and Leicestershire resulting in Lancashire slumping to the bottom of the Division Two table.
The change in head coach, with Dale Benkenstein leaving and Steven Croft taking on the role had the desired effect. Helped by the break in Championship cricket for the T20 Blast, a format Lancashire are always strong in, saw the team winning cricket games and lifting the mood at Old Trafford.
