Jonny Bairstow hit a sensational unbeaten 108 from just 48 balls for Punjab Kings in the IPL as his side chased down a record 261 with eight wickets and eight balls to spare.
With England’s squad for the World T20 in the Caribbean and United Sates due to be announced this week, Bairstow’s pyrotechnics could not have been better timed, reminding England’s selectors of his shortform brilliance.
