Women’s County Cricket: History-maker Emma Lamb puts Lancashire on top

With a lap sweep around the corner, Emma Lamb celebrated a hundred at Trent Bridge and with it wrote her name into the history books, becoming the first player to score a century in the new era of women’s county cricket.
Combined with a three-wicket haul, the all-rounder guided her childhood club to an emphatic victory on the opening day of the season against The Blaze.
Lamb remarked that it felt “amazing” to be the first centurion of the season but admitted she hadn’t even realised the magnitude of the moment, conveying a sense that the victory mattered more.
