Toby Albert was the leading run scorer in last season’s T20 Blast and now the Hampshire opener is hoping that his county’s stuttering season can be kick-started by some similarly scorching batting heroics as the mercury shoots up on the south coast.
The 24-year-old has struggled to make an impact in red-ball cricket at the top of the order in Division One.
But the welcome presence of James Vince at the other end could have a restorative impact, not just on Albert but the rest of the Hampshire line-up.
