Jacob Bethell is set to become England’s youngest-ever men’s captain when he takes charge of a youthful T20 side to tour Ireland in September.
Despite calls for Bethell to find form for Warwickshire in the County Championship, England’s selectors have opted to include the young left-hander in all three white-ball squads for September’s matches against South Africa and Ireland.
