With six days to go before open the against , captain has been taken to hospital after suffering a finger in training.

The was taking part in a fielding drill as England trained at the Ageas Bowl when he was struck awkwardly on the finger.

Morgan has been taken to hospital for an x-ray to determine whether he will be able to play in tomorrow’s warm-up match against Australia in Southampton, with the World Cup opener against South Africa next Wednesday looming heavily on the result of the scan.
