“It was a great feeling,” says Emilio Gay after his match-winning hundred and record stand with David Bedingham against Lancashire saw him voted Rothesay County Championship Player of the Round.

He says: “To get a hundred in any situation is a nice feeling, but to do it in a winning cause and for it to be on day four when you can walk off not out, winning the game when your partner’s also got a hundred, it’s one of the few times you’ll experience all of those things together on the same day.”
