County by County 2026 Season Preview – Division Two – Durham

Richie Benaud used to say “disasters happen at sea, not on cricket fields”. But the manner in which Durham were relegated last season was disastrous.

They only won two games in the County Championship. The last of those was against eventual champions Notts way back in May. And they grabbed relegation by both hands on the final day of the campaign, when escape was seemingly handed to them on a plate in Leeds.
