Mark Butcher: Sam Cook gets his chance as Zak Crawley clings on

There weren’t any huge surprises in England’s first squad of the summer for the Test match against Zimbabwe at Trent Bridge.
I was pleased to see Sam Cook finally get a call-up – not least so I can stop fielding angry messages from people on social media asking me why he hasn’t been included!
In many people’s view, it’s a selection which has come at least a year too late, and you certainly can’t argue with his record.
Cook’s career average is four or five runs less than the next best and his record against top-six batters in particular is exceptional.
