Champions Chelmsford lose on opening day

CHELMSFORD LOST the opening game of their Essex League title defence, going down to Wanstead & Snares-brook by two wickets.
They made 200-8, Jahansher Akbar taking 3-44 as James Clifford (53*) and Irfan Karim (52) both made half-centuries. However, only two other Chelmsford batters reached double figures as they brought up their 200 from the final ball of their 50 overs.
