Archer and Anderson miss out on Big Bash

PAKISTAN QUICK Shaheen Shah Afridi was the top pick in the 2025/26 Big Bash overseas player draft as Jofra Archer and James Anderson were overlooked.
Afridi will play alongside Sussex’s Tom Alsop and Kiwi batter Colin Munro for Brisbane Heat, while Sam Curran will get his first taste of the Big Bash, having been signed by Sydney Sixers. Sam’s older brother Tom has been retained by Melbourne Stars.
