It’s difficult to say what change looks like for England. The media seem to want Brendon McCullum to do a volte-face on his character and approach.
I keep hearing people say that the team needs to reconnect with the public. It really doesn’t.
What the team needs to do is play the type of Test match cricket that will A, win them games, and B, reflect the quality of the players that they have to choose from.
If they do all of those things, they’ll look after the relationship between the team and the public and overcome all of the PR disasters of the last five months.
