England’s incumbent Test No.3 Jacob Bethell is a doubt for the first Test against New Zealand on 4 June, having injured his finger while fielding for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League.

He damaged his left-hand ring finger diving on the boundary edge a week ago and he was ruled out of their final group game on Friday.
The ECB said they have agreed with RCB that Bethell will return home to be “fully assessed and monitored to determine his availability for selection”.
