County by County 2026 Season Preview – Division Two – Derbyshire
Having finished bottom of the second division in 2024, most would have expected Derbyshire to go into the 2025 campaign with better hopes in T20 than red-ball.
But they exceeded all expectations in finishing third and in the end only missed out on promotion – for what would have been the first time in more than a decade – by five points, and were bottom and second from bottom in the T20 and 50-over competition respectively.
