DAVID Lloyd’s career-best knock was not enough for Glamorgan as they came agonisingly close to a tie against Middlesex.
The batsman hit 92 off 75 b alls and had given Glamorgan a real shot at victory, but his stumping off the bowling of Nathan Sowter proved crucial.
Needing a six to tie from the last ball of the innings, Timm van der Gugten’s effort fell two metres short of the boundary rope at Sophia Gardens, consigning Glamorgan to a third successive defeat in the competition.
