WTC final to return to The Oval in 2027

NEWS IN BRIEF

THE WORLD Test Championship (WTC) final will be back at The Oval in 2027. The success of last year’s final at Lord’s saw the ICC give England hosting rights for the next three finals but the game will be back in south London next June as the MCC looks to improve the pitches at Lord’s. The ground received its first demerit point from the ICC last month after producing an “unsatisfactory” surface for England’s Test against New Zealand.
