Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has announced his retirement from Test cricket after it had been reported that he was unlikely to captain the side on their upcoming tour of England.

Rohit said on Instagram: “It has been an absolute honour to represent my country in whites. Thank you for all of the love and support over the years.”
Rohit is still India’s ODI captain, having retired from T20Is after his team’s triumphant 2024 World Cup victory.
He played 67 Tests and has been captain since replacing Virat Kohli in 2022, winning 12 of his 24 Tests in charge although his last two series have ended ...
