PETER Trego may have helped guide Somerset to a One-Day Cup crown – but he couldn’t safeguard Devon against defeat as he became their first match professional in 40 years.
Devon tumbled out of the Unicorns Knockout Trophy at the weekend after rain ruined their 50-over clash at Wiltshire.
From St John’s Wood to Warminster, Trego did pick up a wicket on debut and Kasey Aldridge dazzled with 3-19 in his first spell, with Wiltshire 118-5 in the 27th over when a second break for rain stopped play.
