The legendary South African captain on leading his country aged just 22.

I’D ALWAYS HAD THE GOAL OF CAPTAINING SOUTH AFRICA ONE DAY.
When the opportunity comes around, you never know if you’re going to get it again and you jump at it. Maybe there’s a level of naivety at 22 and I didn’t quite understand all of the complexities and responsibilities that came with being a national captain. I had to learn and bump my head a few times.
