Teens run wild to light up Hove

THE TEENAGERS got it done. Alice Capsey, 19, smashed 51 off just 27 balls before Mahika Gaur, 17, took a wicket on debut as England beat Sri Lanka by 12 runs on DLS in a heavily rain-affected clash at Hove.
After rain delayed the toss and reduced the match to 17 overs a side, further disruption during Sri Lanka’s chase turned the contest into a six-over clash. Having faced 3.1 overs before the downpour, Sri Lanka’s openers Vishmi Gunaratne and Chamari Athapaththu returned to the middle needing to hit 45 off 17 balls.
