FEW need a reminder of Devon Conway’s feat at Lord’s last month but fewer would recollect his Otago counterpart Hamish Rutherford toying around the likes of James Anderson, Steven Finn and Stuart Broad to notch up 171 in the first Test of England’s tour of New Zealand in 2013.
While Rutherford’s career with the Black Caps has not quite gone to plan since that knock in Dunedin, he is grateful for his chances in the English domestic circuit.
