Ripley hopes pink ball can save Northants

DAVID Ripley is an unashamed critic of pink-ball cricket in the County Championship – but if it turns around Northamptonshire’s poor start to the season then he might soon become a fan.
The head coach has presided over a disastrous first five games of the four-day season for Northants who have lost four and had one total washout against Durham.
Last time out they suffered a familiar batting collapse in a sixwicket defeat to Leicestershire to stay rooted to the bottom of Division Two.
