Revenue must come first

WHEN MCC members vote on the redevelopment of Lord’s on September 27, they will be reminded that the club hopes for continuing substantial income from two Tests each year.
This plan, however, is at risk of being sabotaged by a too-successful England XI. Perhaps Joe Root and co. should be asked by the powers at be to stop wrapping up Tests in three days, depriving MCC of vital gate money and other proceeds from fourth and fifth-day crowds.
