Last spotted in mid-July, the T20 Blast returns next week with four quarter-finals between Wednesday and Saturday.
I’m happy to say that my old club are involved. But the situation at Kent gives an insight into the issues that arise from having a six-week gap between the group stages and the knockouts. It’s definitely a good thing that the T20 Blast will return to being completed in one block next summer.
It seems crazy to have a scramble to qualify from the group stages followed by a long pause before the business end of the competition.
