ANRICH NORTJE and Sunile Narine failed an on-field bat test in Kolkata Knight Riders’ defeat to Punjab Kings on Tuesday (April 15).
Narine’s bat was checked with a gauge by reserve umpire Saiyed Khalid before opening for KKR. The thickest part of his bat did not pass through which led to him needing a replacement.
Nortje came in at 11 and had his bat tested by the on-field umpires. KKR substitute Rahmanullah Gurbaz brought out a replacement for the South African, but he never used it as Andre Russell was bowled by the next ball.
