NEWS that plastic pitches, or at least those reinforced with some kind of artificial, polyethylene yarn, could soon be the norm in county white-ball cricket sounds like another kick in the aspirationals for bowlers.
Part of cricket’s allure is the variety it brings through different and changing conditions even in the shorter formats, variety bowlers tend to rely upon for relevance.
