Mental health event is a success

A SOUTH Yorkshire cricket club has raised more than £2,000 for mental health charities Project 14 and Barnsley Samaritans after hosting a landmark T20 event.
Darfield’s Warren Bird was responsible for organising the match between teams from the Yorkshire Premier League South and South Yorkshire Senior Cricket League, attracting nearly 700 people to the club.
“I’ve suffered from mental health issues and I’ve tried to battle it, and wanted to spread the slogan ‘it’s okay to talk’,” he said.
