AFTER ALL the upheaval of recent months, there is a familiar look to England’s Test squad for the opening two Tests of their forthcoming series against Pakistan, which begins at Headingley in 10 days time.
With the notable exception of Ben Stokes and the injured Jacob Bethell, England kept faith with the players who succumbed to New Zealand at Trent Bridge in late June, and there were recalls for Dan Lawrence, who played the most recent of his 14 Test matches in September 2024, and Ollie Pope, who was dropped after a miserable winter in Australia.
