Heather Knight’s World Cup involvement in doubt after hamstring injury

England batter Heather Knight has been ruled out of the domestic summer and is now in a race to be fit for the upcoming Women’s World Cup in India in September after suffering a “significant tendon injury” in the third T20I at Chelmsford last week.
Knight was visibly uncomfortable during her knock and unable to take the field after scoring 66 not out from 47 balls. A subsequent MRI then revealed the extent of her injury.
She will miss the remainder of the ODIs against West Indies, the matches against India and also The Hundred.
