Katie George and Charis Pavely sign new deals at Warwickshire

Warwickshire Women pair Katie George and Charis Pavely have signed new deals with the club, keeping them at Edgbaston Stadium until the end of the 2028 season.

The duo were two of the first players to sign for the Club ahead of the 2025 season when Bears Women took up Tier 1 status as a professional Club.

Both George and Pavely have represented England in white-ball cricket and they have now committed their respective futures to the Bears after impressing during the 2026 campaign.

Highlight

George is enjoying a career-best season with the bat in One Day cricket, scoring 424 runs at an average of 60.57 across eight games in the format.

The highlight being a maiden List A century which came against Lancashire, when she scored a blistering 127 off 97 balls.

Similarly to George, all-rounder Pavely has enjoyed an outstanding season to date, particularly in 50-over cricket, scoring 488 runs in this year’s Metro Bank One Day Cup while averaging 54.2.

In a six-game stretch in the competition, 21-year-old Pavely compiled scores of 63*, 26, 128*, 127, 55 and 63, while also taking key wickets with her left arm off-spin.

Those performances earned her a call-up to England’s ODI squad for their series against New Zealand.

Intent

Warwickshire Bears Women Head Coach, Ali Maiden, said: “This is brilliant news for the Club, and a real sign of intent.

“Both Katie and Charis are fantastic professionals and have shown this year alone that they have the quality to win games of cricket for Warwickshire.

“It’s a boost for the Club to know that they will both be here until at least 2028, and we’re looking forward to seeing what they can help us achieve in that time.

“Charis’ progression shows the importance of the pathway at Warwickshire, having emerged through the academy system, and we want to continue developing our own players as we build a young and talented squad for the future.

“We have an ambitious squad and these two will undoubtedly be key components in the coming years as we strive to continually improve.”

George, who was last week named Bears’ captain until the end of the season, said: “I’m very happy to have signed my extension with Warwickshire. I’m grateful for the support and confidence shown in me, especially this year as I shift into a slightly different role with the bat and I hope I can keep repaying that faith in me.”

Rising star Pavely said: “I’m proud to continue my journey with Warwickshire and excited by what we can achieve over the next couple of seasons. I want to keep challenging myself, keep raising the standards and make a genuine impact on this club. Ultimately, I want to leave the Warwickshire shirt in a better place than I found it.”
