THE IPL has been suspended for one week due to ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan.
The BCCI said it consulted “key stakeholders” including franchisees, broadcasters and sponsors, before making the decision.
“While the BCCI reposes full faith in the strength and preparedness of our armed forces, the Board considered it prudent to act in the collective interest of all stakeholders,” a statement said.
Earlier this week, India accused Pakistan of launching drone and missile attacks on three of its military bases, a claim which Pakistan has denied.
