Hastings’ Hooper hits heights

HARD work really does pay off, just ask Hastings & St Leonards Priory star Elliot Hooper.
Hooper, 23, has been impressing for both Hastings 1st XI and Sussex’s second team this season and finally made his maiden first-class appearance for Sussex in their seven-wicket win against Middlesex on Tuesday. Having only ever played club cricket for local side Hastings, the youngster could not believe he earned his shot at a first-team county game for the first time.
